Job seekers that come to Achieve Staffing are men and women who have either been incarcerated or who have a criminal background (misdemeanors and/or felonies). By connecting these justice involved men and women to the workforce, employers are part of a process that increases the base of Cleveland’s tax-paying citizens.
At Achieve Staffing we walk alongside you and the employee to make sure you both achieve success – for short-term assignments or to build towards longer term placements. There can be concerns about employing formerly-incarcerated men and women. But men and women who are rebuilding or building their careers after involvement with the criminal justice system are often reliable, qualified, and motivated people who appreciate the value of hard work and second chances. There are still many things that can get in the way of their career pathway – things like loss of a driving license, childcare, transportation, reporting to a parole officer, health issues and other life issues. Achieve staffing provides coaching so they receive needed and timely support and connections to resources. That is the ACHIEVE advantage.
Yes. Achieve Staffing is a staffing agency and is competitively priced. We operate contractually with our employment partners and are paid based on the employees we provide and the work they do. The advantage to working with Achieve Staffing is that we are adding value – we provide job seekers with services outside of work to manage the obstacles they face in beginning work and succeeding in the world of work. If Achieve Staffing employees are working at your company–no matter the shift–we are on call to assist them and you.
Yes. Achieve Staffing employees begin as temporary workers, but our goal is permanent employment. Once an Achieve Staffing employee transfers from our payroll to yours, a tax credit called the Workforce Opportunity Credit is available, described below:
The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a Federal tax credit available to employers for hiring individuals from certain targeted groups who have consistently faced significant barriers to employment.
WOTC joins other workforce programs that incentivize workplace diversity and facilitate access to good jobs for American workers.
One of the “targeted groups” in this federal credit people with criminal convictions who have been hired within a year of conviction or release date. More information on WOTC and the Federal Bonding Program (FBP) can be found at (need to create link for attached document) or www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/work-opportunity-tax-credit.
